Northern Tour - first stop Baguio

During winter break and over New Years we went on a road trip to the mountains up North - to make sure we wouldn't overdose on tropical beaches. And as it was supposed to be so beautiful. We took off early a Friday morning, reached Baguio some time in the afternoon and found a big and busy but still charming city clinging to the mountains. We spent two lovely days here, and I'd definitely like go back to explore more. Maybe during the hotter months when the cool air will be even more appreciated!

Arriving in Baguio. Green, hilly and bigger than we though.

First night we spent at comfortable Burnham Suites conveniently located next door to the lovely Burnham park and loads of other nice places.

Like the Cafe by the Ruins where we warmed up with hot soup and other yummy food when the evening got chilly.

Next day we headed for the Tam-Awan village where we spent the night in a traditional Ifugao hut, made big bonfires - to kids total delight - and went for brief walks in the surrounding sweet-smelling pine forest, filling our lungs with as much fresh air as possible. What a luxury for city people like us!

Kids loved the native art. And the breakfast pancakes in the colorful cafe cum art gallery.
